What is a EPC?
An Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) is a guide that would-be buyers or tenants get when they look at a property. It shows how efficiently a home uses energy, the cost of running a home and recommendations of how to improve the energy efficiency of the property.
An Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) gives a property an energy efficiency rating from A (most efficient) to G (least efficient) and is valid for 10 years. The EPC will also provide estimated running costs for the property. It shows how energy efficiently a property is and advises what changes can be made in order to reduce running costs and carbon ommisions produced..

  Do I need an EPC?

  An EPC is required every time a home is put up for sale or for rent. A landlord is      required to show potential tenants, and a seller must have one to show to                potential buyers, it is the responsibility of the home owner to have one in place        before the property is marketed for sale or rent.
